Twenty One Grams, PJ Newtown

it was a beautiful Saturday afternoon...
woke up early as usual, did some errands and head out for brunch with a bunch of beautiful ladies~
PJ Newtown is never my favourite area ever since they started the changes of road...
mainly became one way and half the time i lost my way...
is either i made the turning too early or missed the junction completely...
well, i was hoping i won't lost my way again this time...
thanks to waze which has been real handy for someone who has no direction sense like me... =D

okay, enough for my grandmother story...
have some churros maybe?
beautiful churros
Twenty One Grams is a neighbourhood cafe...
hidden at the back lane of the shop lots with spacious interior...
barely two months old and already expanding eagerly...
a new outlet in Jaya One~
interior
liking the glassy look a lot...
it allows the natural day light to shower the cafe...
very photogenic...
the bar
like many other cafe, a huge coffee machine with colour cups on top...
modern, clean and tidy...
cake corner
displaying only two types of cake...
i'm sure there will be more coming up...
corner
this corner has been agreed as the most beautiful corner for photo...
however we did not move ourselves there...
too troublesome... =P
notes
notes from their guests nicely pasted on their wooden wall...
i kinda impressed by some of the drawings...
it's really nice!!
my ladies
4 of us having a wonderful Saturday brunch...
we talked, laughed and eaten a lot of food...
Hot Chocolate  RM 10.90
Mocha  RM 10.90
Cappuccino  RM 9.90
Honey Lemon  RM 8.90
Coconut Mocha  RM 15.90
they served normal cafe drinks...
coffee, chocolate and tea...
however, they do have their own special drink creations too...
like the coconut mocha, sounds very interesting~
i would never thought of having coconut with coffee...
it would be much better if the taste of coconut could be stronger...
the very minimum taste of coconut kinda made the drink not here nor there...
Tempura Calamari Rings  RM 10.90
deep fried calamari rings that came with fragrance...
it could be a nice snack or a great appetizer...
Roasted Pumpkin Soup  RM 10.90
a huge bowl of pumpkin soup served with wholemeal bread...
i'm sure this soup can be a meal itself to me...
we really enjoyed this, especially with the pumpkin seeds...
Spaghetti Marinara  RM 16.90
favourite of the day!!
everyone love this and it was really good~
generous seafood serving in rich tomato sauce...
i'm not a Marinara fans but i enjoyed this very much...
Cajun Grilled Chicken  RM 19.90
grilled cajun chicken served with garlic butter rice...
if i were to order this again, i would like the sauce to be separated...
The Farmers Pancake Stack  RM 17.90
hashbrown, turkey ham, rocket leaves and sauteed mushrooms sandwiched in pancakes...
topped with fried egg and served with beetroot mayonnaise...
there are still rooms of improvement for this...
Philly Cheese Steak  RM 19.90
char-grilled steak strips, caramelized onions and salad leaves sandwiched in ciabatta...
the least favourite of the day...
the steak strips were too chewy, the sauce was not enough...
the whole sandwich was too dry... =(
Churros & Espresso Chocolate  RM 10.90
churros, very nice in photo but was too oily...
well, it's really not easy to get good churros...
Nutella & Banana Crepe  RM 13.90
delicate slices of crepe folded with spreads of nutella and banana...
this was good and we finished every bit of it...

as i mentioned earlier, Twenty One Grams is still very new and i'm sure with constructive comments given, they will surely improve on their shortcomings...
it is definitely a place where you can chill the whole day~
at least we felt comfortable sitting there...
i don't mind to go back for their Marinara and the crepe...
of course also to give them a chance to impress me again with other items...
till then, all the best to Twenty One Grams team... =)
