Jarrod & Rawlins, Damansara Heights

it was a lovely night~

"soul" came back from her Korea trip and called for a gathering...

the main reason was to give away all the souvenirs that she has bought for us...

yippie!! i've got a bag full of stuff from Korea...

as usual, it was a after work dinner session...

and again, i'm the one who chose where to go and what to eat~

heard about Jarrod & Rawlins' famous breakfast for so many times and so long...

always want to give it a try but too bad, never a morning we will travel that far...

therefore, i suggested to have our dinner there and check out their dinner menu...

Jarrod & Rawlins

"soul" brought her Hikaru bear along just to show off... =P
she got this lovely teddy from the Teddy Museum in Korea~
he has became our model that night...

walked into the Jarrod & Rawlins...
i was greeted with friendly smiles from the staff...
took the table and as soon as i was seated, menu was given...
as svmmer and i arrived first, we decided to wait for everyone to order...
looking around the restaurant, it was with classy and modern Tudor interior...

and also the classic like chandelier~
together with warm yellowish lightings...
classy and cosy...

a good mixture of modern and Tudor style bar counter...
the Guinness light board looks so sharp hanging there~
the glass hanging cabinets look modern and yet blended well with the wooden bar counter...
of course, the wooden bar stools help on the Tudor side...

black and white checkers flooring

svmmer love the checkers floor so much until she has to take this shot...
yes, the checkers floor looks lovely...
it somewhat made the restaurant looks more classy~
i don't have much on the interior of Jarrod & Rawlins...
but we ate quite a bit for dinner...

House Pouring Red - Anakena Cabernet Sauvignon  RM75.90/bottle

though it was during their happy hour when we had our dinner...
but i was not allowed to have my all time favourite - Guinness... =(
just because one of us is doing his body building... (hate you!!) =P
had their house pouring red instead...
it was quite okay but not the best that we have had before...
Cabernet Souvignon is always the easiest to drink...
more fruity compared with the others like Syraz...
however, still can't beat the one we had in Ante Kitchen & Bar... 

Soup of the Day - Beef Chowder  RM13.50

started our dinner with soup of the day -- Beef Chowder...
i always thought that chowder means thick soup with seafood...
simply because i normally see clam chowder, fish chowder or seafood chowder...
never once i have seen other than seafood until this~
the beef chowder was quite good, will be perfect if without the spring onions...
thick and with lots of ingredient in it...

Caesar Salad with additional Smoked Salmon  RM 28.50

"soul"'s all time favourite - Caesar Salad...
she just loves caesar so much that almost every dinner she will order one...
well~ i like it very much too...
it's a salad that can hardly go wrong...
Jarrod & Rawlins' version of Caesar Salad was good...
the greens were fresh, the dressing was just nice and not overly salty even with smoked salmon in it...
the croutons were crunchy and blended nicely with the salad...
a very nice one i would say~

Chicken Breast Gratin  RM 31.50

i love this chicken breast so so so much!!
grilled chicken breast to perfection, bedded on grilled vegetables...
topped with cheesy mushroom sauce...
the chicken breast was tender and juicy, together with the cheese on top...
tasted like top of the world!! so nice!!
i wiped everything clean and not feeling greasy at all~
thumbs up!! =D

J&R Special Spicy Pasta  RM 27.30

this special spicy pasta was like a pasta "mamak" style...
we didn't finish the pasta as it wasn't really tasty...
the flavour was a bit weird or i should say not towards our liking...
and again, the spring onions irritated me... 

The Ultimate BLT  RM 22.90

beef bacon slices, tomato slices and fresh greens...
sandwiched in 2 slices of toasted brown bread, served with fries...
the ultimate BLT looks great but have got to eat it separately...
too thick to bite everything together~

Crème Brulee  RM 14.50

one of my friends recommended their crème brulee...
as we always end our meal with a dessert...
we decided to give it a try and it was quite okay...
not too sweet and the custard pudding under the caramel was smooth...

but, i still think Huck's Cafe served the best crème brulee...

overall the dining experience was not bad...
their staff were so attentive and alert to all requests...
serving with a friendly smile on their face all the time...
perhaps i should try their breakfast for next...
after all, that is what made them so famous in town... ^^
