Wild Honey, Mandarin Gallery Singapore

went for a short getaway to Singapore...
it was more like a gathering than a trip~
visiting our friends who are now working in Singapore...
was a trip to us but to them can be really tiring as they've got to work on the weekday...
it was indeed a great trip...
got together again after 10 years and we found that we are still who we were to each other...
no hiding, no cheating, no pretending~
that's what friendship all about i suppose...
beautiful trip with beautiful people, definitely added some colours with beautiful places...
out of so many places we went, this cafe will be the strongest pull among all for me to go back to Singapore again...
- WILD HONEY -
Wild Honey
a not too big but very cozy cafe which served all day breakfast menu...
like their queuing system very much~
the first time we went was on Saturday, you won't believe the queue i saw, it was really long...
they put several stools outside the cafe for people to sit while waiting to be seated...
if you have spotted the small electronic gadget at the entrance in the picture...
that's for their customer to key in their details and will get a call from the system informing that seats are available...
i seriously think that is so cool... ^^
counter
that's the only counter they have in the cafe...
with all the menu written in colourful chalks on boards, displaying their pastries and also overlooking the barista who preparing the drinks...
walked into the cafe, immediately we were greeted by all the smiley faces...
interior
i took this shot from where i was seated...
although they had a full house, but the way they fully utilize the limited space they have was amazing...
unlike some of the cafes, their seating arrangement was just nice...
it doesn't give me the uncomfortable crowded feeling...
Flat White
they might not have the best coffee art...
but according to Wei, they do served good flat white...
Mocha
i love the "Heart" served to me...
starting the day with a heart is a blessing...
the mocha was good, good combination of chocolate and coffee...
European
this was AWESOME!!
they claimed this as their signature dish and yes! it deserved to get the name...
like the Egg Benedict, but much more flavourful compared to what i normally have...
the Italian prosciutto, also known as parma ham enhanced the flavour but not overpowering the taste of the poached egg and sauteed mushrooms...
oh~ we were just so loving it...
Tunisian
another signature dish of Wild Honey...
combination of tomatoes, onions, red peppers and chilies, studded with sausages and topped with 2 fried eggs...
served with salad and thick slices of bread...
very strong taste of tomato with a tad of spiciness...
i personally like it very much from the first bite, it opened my taste bud~

as it was a treat by Shyan, i didn't have the prices of all items we had on our first visit...
many thanks, Shyan~
we returned on the 3rd day morning which was a Monday...
with lesser crowd and quieter environment...
Mocha  S$7.00 & Flat White  S$6.00
again, we had the same drinks...
again, my day started with a heart... =)
Raspberries Scone  S$5.00
Wei is a berry freak... she just can't resist anything to do with berries...
she asked if we can have the scone when she saw it on the counter while we placing our order...
it wasn't the best that i've had, but it was a nice one...
crunchy at the outside and soft in the inside...
Scandinavian  S$26.00
i wanted to try the Norwegian but too bad it was not available...
the owner (i think so) recommended Scandinavian to me as i said i love salmon...
grilled salmon fillet bedded on potato rosti, served with asparagus and mini tomatoes...
it was really nice as the salmon was really fresh...
but i think it will be good for lunch or dinner, rather than breakfast...
a little too heavy for me early in the morning...
Roman  S$22.00
this was not so good compared to the others...
maybe we should have eaten this first before the Scandinavian...
it was the frittata (egg-based dish similar to an omelette or crustless quiche) topped with potatoes, white truffle oil, mascarpone and black caviar...
served with ciabatta...
the ciabatta was burnt... =/
i think i won't order this again...

i wanted to go again on the day we left Singapore...
but i didn't due to time constrained...
i will surely return...
if you happened to visit Singapore, give it a try...
it definitely worth waiting for~
