Tanah Aina Farrah Soraya, Raub, Pahang

time flies~ here we are on the last day of September...
the journey back to the nature during our annual Raya getaway was still fresh in mind...
and it was actually one and a half months back...
it was indeed a very good trip though it was short and rush...
38 Gang
slightly different with the previous years, this year we went on the 3rd and 4th day of Raya due to the closure of the Tanah Aina Farrah Soraya...
(that was actually frustrated us where they informed us about the closure only after we made payment)
first impression was not really good but they left us no choice as we have paid full...
it was my working Saturday and thanks to the very gentleman GSC and pretty ECY for waiting...
the traffic was quite smooth as it took only about 2 hours for us to reach there...

Tanah Aina Farrah Soraya located in Raub, Pahang...
you will definitely pass by when you are on the way to Fraser's Hill from Bentong...
as it was a "Back to Nature" themed resort, they have a separate car park area for us to park our car...
then, shuttle service provided to bring us up to the resort area...
welcome board
as we reaching the reception area, we were welcomed by this wooden board...
a journey of LOVE, back to nature...
and yes, that's what we were expecting~
reception
welcome drink and a cold hand towel was served to us upon our arrival...
it was really refreshing, especially the cold towel, given just at the right time after all the travelling...
this simple gesture actually warmed my heart (or probably because of the hot weather?haha..)
waiting lounge
they have a very nice open air reception and waiting lounge...
perfectly match to their love nature concept which none of the areas were air-conditioning...
TV area
this TV area definitely will be the favourite place of a TV person...
comfortable sofa set and LCD TV with limited Astro channels...
bridge over the river
the bridge leads us to our room...
the whole resort area was divided into 2 by the river and the bridge is the only connection...
before the river, that's where the reception, TV area, function halls, meeting rooms and convenient shop are...
rooms are all located the other side...
giant swings
crossed the bridge and these giant swings came into picture...
i was like: OMG!!
yes, i know~ i became like a kid again when i saw them~
it's so lovely... =)
activities hall
activities hall was located at the ground floor of our room building...
they offered table tennis and American pool...
table tennis FOC but you got to pay for the pool table...
rooms corridor
walking up the staircase, i saw a very nice corridor...
table and chairs were set with a ashtray on top...
i was thinking about my Bei when i saw that...
is like perfectly set for him as he is the only smoker... NOT GOOD!! =D
10 pax dormitory
that's our 10 pax dormitory...
4 double decker beds and 2 single beds...
spacious enough for 10 definitely...
bathrooms area
Tanah Aina Farrah Soraya practiced share bathroom system...
for the first time, i do not feel troublesome for going out the room to take my shower or do my business...
simply because the toilets were conveniently located next to our dormitory...
there were another 2 dormitories next to ours...
all 3 sharing the same bathrooms and not to worry...
they have all 8 bathrooms if i'm not mistaken, sufficient enough for all 3 dormitories of 10 pax...
bathroom
clean bathroom they have...
with big shower and big window~
eco-friendly system = no hot water supply...
we knew it before we did the booking...
was prepared to jump in the cold shower but surprisingly, there was 1 hot shower available at the last bathroom... and yes! that particular bathroom was a piece of hot cake...
however, hot water supply was limited...
taking shower late at night might have the risk of no hot water supply...
their advise to all the guests is to use the shampoo, shower gel and hair conditioner provided...
simple reason, organic items they provide...
i personally love their shower gel... smell like mosquito repellent and it gave the same effect too~
i had a wonderful mosquito-free night... ^^
oh ya~ don't forget to put down the curtain when you take your shower or do your business...
unless you don't mind giving free show... haha!! XD
happy faces
be prepared to leave your smart phones, tablets, laptops or any electronic gadgets behind...
not only they do not provide wifi service, can't even get any telephone reception over there~
the activities we did on the first day was sitting by the river, playing with the crystal clear but ice cold water, talking nonsense and laughing all the way...
not to forget lots of photo taking and of course having fun at the giant swings~
look at our happy faces...
it was so really nice to leave all the stressful gadgets behind and get back to the nature...
i think we did it quite well without the "smart" technologies for one and a half days...
KEMPAS - our dormitory
KEMPAS - name of our dormitory...
that was my favourite shot by SHF when i was holding the key...
oh~ sexy legs i have... XD
private dining area
a private dining area next to the public dining area...
this area was closed during our visit...
it was only to cater for big group i suppose...
public dining area
that's the public dining area located by the river...
look at CMS's happy face...
nothing to shout about their food and beverage...
not specially good nor bad...
at least we didn't get starve and can still eat until we were all full...
with the amount we paid and the concept they practices, we didn't go with a high expectation of course...
resting tent
a perfect place to lay back and do some readings during the day...
will be good too to sit down and chit chat at night if you don't mind to do some "blood donations"...
haha~ seriously, i did see some people hanging around this area at night...
surrounding
we did a quick walk up to the small hill...
there were all the expensive rooms up there~
as we were walking up, i turned back and was attracted by the beautiful view...
like the mini CMS in the picture... ^^
on the left of the picture, that was actually public toilets...
very nicely done public toilets...
L . O . V . E
that's us~ the 38 girls...
the girls who mean a lot to me... the girls who always there for me...
our activities were all scheduled on the next morning...
it was supposedly a night jungle walk, got cancelled because of the rain...
as usual, we drank and played card game in the room...
monopoly card game was so nice, had so much fun with it...
special thanks to LKK for introducing the game to us~
us - ready for flying fox
we skipped the morning jungle walk as non of us able to get up so early in the morning...
or should i said non of us willing to get up that early since it was a holiday...
should be relax and not waking up so early!! =P
flying fox was the first game we went after the breakfast...
look, we were all set for it...
yeah! i'm done!
me, after the flying fox...
it wasn't my first time doing flying fox...
i would say the one in Dusun Eco was much better as it was higher and longer...
this will be just nice for beginners...
all set for jungle trekking
after "flying", we were set for the jungle trekking...
it was a real tough trekking for me as i wasn't wearing the right shoes...
should have bought their special made rubber shoes instead of wearing my Converse...
though it wasn't an easy journey, but the view and the fun we had paid off the hard works...
Fountain of Youth Waterfall @ Sungai Delam
didn't capture the nice waterfall as we were rushing off...
the sky turned dark and rain followed...
and it happened out of sudden, we only managed to take a few shots...
at the waterfall, there was a 17 feet height jumping platform named "Leap of Faith"...
all of them did their jump, some even did more than 2 times, except me...
i actually went up 3 times, and not even one time i make my jump successfully...
i'm a real coward... really can't deal with height... =(
shuttle lorry
most of the resorts use shuttle bus to provide shuttle services...
Tanah Aina uses shuttle lorry...
it was a great experience sitting behind the lorry and bouncing as it goes...
that was when we were leaving...
see how concern their staff are, fetched us with the umbrella as it was raining...

i will highly recommend Tanah Aina Farrah Soraya if you are looking for a place to do a group trip...
not only the great environment, but more because of their great services...
the staff were all very friendly and attentive...
they served with a smile on their face all the time and they concerned about our safety and timing too...
like the jungle trekking we did...
it was only 9 of us and there were 3 of them leading and following us...
one of them was actually holding a backpack with full of necessary items, like first aid and rope...
yes, that's their duty to keep us safe throughout the whole journey but making us to feel secure is definitely not in the job scope i believe...
all 3 of them were experienced and trustworthy...
i just feel so safe with them around~
a small gesture one of the staff did and made me feel so grateful was how he kept my glasses...
i took my glasses off as we were all wet and my glasses was covered by fog...
i passed it to him asking if he can keep that in his bag...
i was expecting him to just simply put it in the bag and guess what?
he took out the first aid box and rearranged the whole box just to fit my glasses in...
at that moment, i know they served with full heart and i do really appreciate that~

it was really a nice short getaway to me...
not only i get to catch up with my 38 gang but also to get closer to the nature~
fresh breath, stress-free days without any phone calls or SMS from work, have full concentration for and from the gang as there's no Facebook, Instagram or Twitter...
that's how it should be for us to show our care and love to each other right?
and now, i'm looking forward to our annual trip 2014...
a place where we don't need to carry our own beer... excited!! =D
