YUZU 柚, The Gardens

it was almost half a year ago...
the day where we celebrated his birthday and Boxing Day~
he wanted to have Japanese food and we wanted somewhere not too far away...
that's how we decided to give a try at YUZU in The Gardens...
YUZU menu
overall the environment of YUZU was good...
we were treated very nicely and friendly by the staff since we stepped in...
table setting
we were seated at a quiet corner where we can have our private talk...
very nice for birthday celebration~
(sorry for not having any photo of the surrounding... )

as soon as all of us were seated, we made our order~
Freda decided to go for their ala-carte...
Unadon  RM 48.00
i didn't get to try on how it tasted...
but looking at the portion, i seriously don't agree with the price charged...
Unagi, Soba & Takikomi Gohan Set  RM 48.00
the unagi was really too small compared to what showed in their menu...
well, i suppose they will claim that all photos are for illustration purposes only!!
look at the unagi, so small~
and they served soup in a tea pot... that's something new to me...
soba
soba was good... but again, the portion is really small~
this set can only feed small eaters, definitely not for men... ha!
Sushi, Tempura and Soba Bento  RM 39.00
i personally think that this was a great choice~
with the sushi, at least it was a filling dinner set...
the combination of sushi was great too... though there were only 2 pieces of tempura...
the 2 pieces tempura and the sushi...
i kinda like the basket like sushi plate~
 the miso soup and dessert~
dessert was a small piece of Tiramisu cake served in cocktail glass...
Yuzu Bento  RM 40.00
mine bento set was a little too much for me...
i'm never a big eater, with the rice and soba included in the set, i can hardly finished everything in the set by myself...
this bento set was worth of money...
not only i got a bowl of rice, a small mug of soba, miso soup, a piece of sushi, tempura, fried chicken pieces, chawanmushi and also 3 types of mini dessert~
a piece of unagi roll with a thick cut of unagi on top and Japanese braised rice...
the rice was nice but i think it would be perfect without the green peas in it...
the tempura and fried chicken pieces were great too...
perfectly deep fried and not too oily... like!
mini desserts
assorted cake, custard pudding and mixed fruits...
i only fancy the fruits... haha~
Sukiyaki  RM 65.00
it was such a big pot... very generous on ingredients too...
would be a good sharing of 2 with some side dishes~
i like the thin beef slices as it was tender and fresh...
Mango Kakigori  RM 12.00
mango ice with mango syrup and topped with fresh mango slices...
it was nice and the birthday boy was wondering why we didn't order any dessert after the meal which we normally did...
of course we won't as we knew there was a better dessert coming up...
Happy Birthday and Happy Boxing Day
yes! the birthday cake was our dessert of the night...
it was also a surprise for him...
what a great night out with my buddies...
overall the dining experience was quite good but i don't think that i will return as i could get better Japanese food at very much affordable price elsewhere...
but that was only my personal opinion, they do served wide range of Japanese cuisine... if you are keen, do give them a try~
Bon Appetit!
