Strawberry Moment Dessert Cafe, Cameron Highlands

ever since the new road going to Cameron Highlands from Raub has been developed...
Cameron Highlands became our day trip hot spot...
this day, we were going for traditional Chinese medicine...
of course also a day around the Cameron Highlands~
mummy is a dessert lover...
brought her to Strawberry Moment Dessert Cafe for desserts...
every dessert they served you can see strawberries on it...
is that to match the cafe's name? probably... =)
let's see what we had for the day...
the very strawberry menu... =D
walked into the cafe, little Jade already marked her dessert...
she picked it from the display fridge~
a mixture of mousse and cake...
i believe the mousse was nice but not the cake...
because little Jade finished the mousse and left the cake in the cup...
Inspire  RM 6.90
little Jade's sweet smile after she got her dessert~
oh~ did i mention she is also a dessert crazy?
ha! yes! just like her sweet grandma... ^^
with that cutie smile on her face, how to not give her what she requested? ^^
while waiting for what we ordered to be served...
i just can't stop taking her pictures...
she is such a adorable baby~ *LOVE*
from the menu, we picked what looks nice in the pictures...
let's see what we had~
the Tiramisu ice mousse served with vanilla ice cream...
it was quite nice, just a little too sweet to my liking~
Fair Lady  RM 12.90
the signature of Strawberry Moment Dessert Cafe~
it was good but i would prefer lesser on the whip cream...
was only my personal liking, mummy and baby sis love it!
Strawberry Strudel  RM 7.50
then we had the soft pancakes served with slices of fresh strawberries and with chocolate sauce surrounding~
chocolate sauce and strawberries will always make a perfect match...
and they were quite generous on the chocolate sauce and strawberries...
yummy!!
Strawberry Chocolate Crepe  RM 12.90
it was my second visit~ first visit was few years back during my semester break trip...
always wanted to revisit, and finally~ ^^
will definitely visit them again... or maybe their Ipoh branch?

movie: This Means War

OMG! can't wait to share this with all of you~
a nice movie that drives me all the way to Tropicana City Mall for a 9.15p.m. show...
(because it was no longer showing in 1 Utama, and that was the only show in Tropicana City)
- This Means War -
starring by Chris Pine, Reese Witherspoon and Tom Hardy
knew about this movie in the cinema when i was watching another movie~
the trailer attracted me as it's exactly the type of the movie that i like...
comedy, romance with action~
wau! how can i miss that?
thank God i found out it was showing in the cinema before it's been taken down...
(ya~ i know i was pretty late... but at least i didn't miss it~ ^^)
okay~ back to the story...
as you can see from the poster...
it's all about spy against spy...
but, they aren't enemies to each other~
in fact, they are best friends... they are family to each other...
they are a team working as CIA agents...
they are also the only friend to each other...
until they fall in love to the same girl~
the best friends turned to be the enemies...
both working hard to win the girl's heart...
trying their very best... and everything they did~
make the audiences laugh...
how i wish there are 2 great men working hard to win my heart~ =P
but 1 thing from Lauren's best girlfriend is very true to me...
when you have to make a decision between 2 men...
choose the one that make you want to be good girl for him...
he might not be the best man... even if he is creepy, he will be your one and only creepy~
i really like this movie~
will be in the my watch again, again and again list...
if you haven't watch this, watch it, you will love it...
if you did, then you will know it is good and it's really entertaining... ^^
p/s: Chris Pine is really cute and handsome! =D

movie: Mirror Mirror

"mirror mirror on the wall~ who's the fairest in the world?"
a very familiar sentence that we know since we were kid...
the Snow White story is one of the best fairy tale stories by Walt Disney...
and today~ director Tarsem Singh brought the Snow White legend alive...
put the Snow White legend on big screen with the name~
- Mirror Mirror -
Snow White is one of my favourite fairy tale story...
after the trailer, i swear i must watch it in the cinema~
not only because of the legend, but also the features stars Julia Roberts and Lily Collins...
fell for Julia Roberts after her Oscar winning movie ~
and in Mirror Mirror, she carried the character of the Devil Queen...
never seen her being such a devil woman in her movies...
she did an amazing job, creepy, funny and you won't be hating her after all her devil action...
and of course, Lily Collins looks exactly like Snow White with her fair skin, red lips, innocent looking face and the sweet smile on her face...
how about the story?
oh~ if you are expecting a legendary fairy tale story line, please don't waste your time and money...
but if you are ready for something refreshing and new~
it would be a good choice...
story started with "Once upon a time...", is the same starting as the Snow White story that we familiar with...
the Queen wanted to be the fairest in the world...
but when Snow White has grown and become a fair lady...
the Queen's jealousy drives Snow White to the dying path~
Snow White died after 1 bite of the red poisoned apple?
true love kiss by the Prince bring her back from death?
no no no... this time, the Snow White fight for her love, her country and her people~
my favourite part of the movie is when Snow White rescue the Prince from the Queen's spell...
true love kiss brought him back from being like a puppy...
and when she said "this time, the princess will fight and rescue the prince~"
ending of the story is the Prince and Princess got married and live together happily ever after~
what's the interesting part? ha! the whole story line is interesting...
for example, the 7 dwarfs living in the dark wood but not working as diamond miner anymore...
the beast in the dark wood is actually someone from the kingdom that been spelled by the Queen...
the Prince and Snow White first meeting each other...
the Queen trying to spell the Prince...
and last but not least, the Queen wanted to poison Snow White with the red poisoned apple...
how interesting it is? find out yourself by watching the movie...
i think it worth watching...
and i think Mirror Mirror is telling the people that whatever you do, you will have to bear the consequences, sooner or later~
just like the Queen will have to pay for the dark magic that she used... =)
enjoy the movie people~

Tune Hotel, Downtown Penang

our Family Trip 2.0 didn't end when we said goodbye to Langkawi...
we drove to Penang and stayed there for a night in Tune Hotel Downtown...
we got the rooms at about RM60.00 per room...
inclusive of toiletteries and air-cond for 12 hours~
let's check out how's the room looks like...
double room at Level 7...
view at the entrance...
the room was small but cozy...
i got the street view room and it was quite nice looking at the busy street of Downtown Penang...
they fully utilized every space of the room...
2 bedside tables and also one hanging luggage holder for you to put your light luggage like backpack...
view of the room from the windor side...
one huge mirror hanging on the wall to make the room looks more spacious...
the unique part of the room is~
although it was small, but it has it private toilet and bathroom...
peaking the toilet and bathroom...
it wasn't the best hotel in town...
but it was good for those who have tight budget...
afterall, we only used the room for shower and sleep...
and we didn't even finish the 12 hours air-conditioner supply~
RM 60 for a double room at Downtown Penang, i think it was reasonable...
for those who like spacious room, this is not recommended to you~
but for those who just need a place to catch some rest, this could be what you're looking for...
their operation system is similar with Air Asia (under the same boss whert...)
so, if you can pre-plan your holiday, early booking is advisible...
last minute booking will actually cost more for the same room...
just like last minute air ticket will always be more expensive that you booked the ticket half year ahead...
i kinda like their slogan - enjoy the 5-star stay at 1-star cost...
if i would have the chance to visit Penang again, i don't mind to stay at Tune Hotel again~
Happy Traveling to all... ^^

Address: 100, Jalan Burma Georgetown, 10050 George Town, Penang.

Awana Porto Malai, Langkawi

my very 1st hotel review~
just wanted to share the great staying experience...
got to start my review with a short story, hope you guys won't mind it~ ^^

we started our family trip last year...
this year, we make it again to Langkawi~
that's why i called it as Family Trip 2.0... =D
when we finalized the venue, my pretty sis found a great deal in MyDEAL...
3D2N stay in Garden View Deluxe Room + Daily Breakfast + Island Hopping for 2 @ Awana Porto Malai Langkawi for RM388nett...
OMG!! what a great deal...
of course we bought and started to look forward for the day to come...

18.03.2012, 4 in the morning~
we started our journey from KL...
reached Awana Porto Malai Langkawi at about 4.30 evening...
wau! 12 hours of traveling? not really...
we just taking our own sweet time, no hurry...
before we checked in, we actually went for lunch and also went to the Langkawi Landmark -- Eagle Square...
okay~ enough for the grandmother's story...
let's check out the hotel~
when our car reached the entrance...
there was a handyman helping us to bring down our luggages...
then, he will wait at the lobby, for us to check in and bring our luggages into our rooms...
5 stars service...
stepped into their lobby~
1st impression was HUGE and cozy...
center of the lobby...
while my pretty sis and baby sis were waiting at the reception...
i took the oppurnity to walk around~
the environment there was so nice...
the directory...
they do not have their private beach like others beach resort in Langkawi...
but the view from the boardway was great!
their own jetty for guests who own boats...
they have quite a few restaurants around the hotel...
i believe they are all under the same management...
looking back to the hotel from the boardway
i really love this shot~
light house and the boardway... too bad we can't go up to the top of the light house...
enough for the surrounding environment...
let's move on to the hotel room...
i would like to apologize on the poor quality photo...
i didn't realize my hand shaked when i took the shot~ =(
Garden View Deluxe Room
spacious, cozy and nice...
2 queen size bed in the room~
i like their design like a studio room...
washing basin outside the bathroom~
a big mirror on the wall...with coffee making facilities at the side~
so lucky i got a balcony attached to my room...
we took 5 rooms...
2 of the rooms didn't have a balcony...
balcony always the best place for the smoker...
from the balcony...
i can actually see the pool...
a real garden view... XD
after some rest... we walked around the hotel~
and decided to sit down at one of the cafe to enjoy a cup of drink...
view from where i sat~
back view from where i sat...
that must be the sea view rooms...
the next morning, we had our breakfast with a breathtaking view~
love the early morning fresh air with the sound of the wave...
relaxing and calming...
breakfast with the morning sea view~
we really enjoyed ourselves there...
their service was so good...
their breakfast was good...
we tried their buffet dinner... was not bad~
wanted to try their ala carte dinner...
maybe next visit?
if you have enough budget and looking for a place to relax...
this is the one!
Awana Porto Malai Langkawi ain't new, but with the service and facilities...
it make every cent you pay worthwhile...^^

Tanzini, G Tower

always talk about eat~
but i never have a chance to go for fine dining until i see the deal from Groupon...
3-course western lunch at Tanzini for RM 38 per pax?
to experience the fine dining, of course i bought the voucher...
and there we go~
Tanzini at G Tower Hotel...
left from the lift... level 28 of G Tower...
walked into the restaurant...
all you can see is friendly smile on all the waiters and waitresses' face...
although we are using the voucher, they still treat us like normal guests...
while i walking into the restaurant~
i took some shots...
the waiting area...
part of the dining area...
table for 2?
the wine cellar along the walkway...
what a classy and cosy ambience~
while waiting for our food and drinks to be served...
i walked out from the restaurant to the "balcony"...
smoking area~
very kind of them...
well prepared for the smokers...
chairs and side table with ashtray...
spot the KLCC...
i believe it would be really great sitting outside to have a couple of drinks last time...
before all the construction works going on...

let's move on to what we had on that great afternoon...
(it was a great afternoon because we actually heading to Langkawi that night ^^)
when we were brought to our table...
this was already on the table...
we were wondering what was that...
i was actually thinking it was just a decoration... haha!
dips for the pre-dining bread~
they were awesome!
the one on the left...was actually made with chili...
the middle one was the olive oil with balsamic vinegar...
on the right was the chili flake in olive oil~
i love the chili paste...hmm...it's so yummy...
hot soft pre-dining bread~
the voucher didn't include drinks~
so, we ordered our drinks from the menu...
and it was a mistake for us not taking their promotion...
with the set lunch, you can buy 2 mocktails at RM 19.00++
but we didn't take that...
what we picked from the menu were the most expensive drinks i ever had...
Fresh Orange Juice  RM 16.00++
RM 16 for a glass of Orange Juice? OMG!!
it's ridiculous, but what do you expect in a fine dining restaurant right?
the hot drinks to me were still acceptable...
we pay about the same in Starbucks or Coffee Bean anyway~
Hot Mocha  RM 13.00++
Hot Cafe Latte  RM 13.00++
enough for the drinks~
our 3-course lunch started with a soup or a salad...
Soup of the day - Zuppa Del Giorno
i don't know what's the ingredients of the soup...
it was good... thick and strong on the taste...
it really opened my taste bud~
Bei had the salad, so that we could taste on both...
Yellow Fin Tuna Salad
the salad was superb...
Carpaccio of Yellow Fin Tuna served with organic salad greens, black grapes and Yuzu Vinaigrette~
for main course...
Tanzini offered 3 choices...
we had 4 vouchers, so we can had all 3... ^^
Bei had the Grilled Black Angus Rib Eye...
served with Perigueux sauce, black truffle, potato Mousseline and seasonal vegetables...
the steak was juicy and tender...
how we wish they could give a thicker cut~
Grilled Black Angus Rib Eye
i of course will choose the lamb...
Sous-vide of Lamb Leg
the 8 hours slow-cooked sliced lamb leg...
served with Tuscan Peppers, Puy Lentil and sautéed vegetables...
it was juicy and tender...not too much of fat...
again, i wish they could give a thicker cut... XD
Sous-vide of Lamb Leg
my Fei Mei do not fancy lamb or beef...
but she crazy over pasta...
so, that was her choice - the Spaghetti Alfredo
served with grilled boneless chicken leg, portobello mushrooms ad aged parmesan...
the chicken was juicy and tender also~
the spaghetti was nice...not too creamy yet strong on cheese taste... yum!
Spaghetti Alfredo
after all our main courses...
the waiter served the dessert of the day~
it was a chocolate cake...
i kinda like it... but it was a bit too sweet towards the end...
dessert of the day~
the portion of the food were crazily small...
perhaps it's how the fine dining should be...
but looking at next table...their ala carte portion wasn't that small~
maybe next time, i should go back for the ala carte dinner menu...
overall, the service was excellent...
the food tasted great~ nice ambience and view...
was a great experience for me...
was my first time, having fine dining as my meal~
not really know what i wrote is adequate...
but i will learn...hope whoever reading this won't mind it...
a picture before we entered the lift...

Austin Chase, Sunway Giza

it was a great Saturday...
i dated my ex-bosses out for breakfast~
finally we met after a year...
i've never have breakfast during weekend...
after some research~ we decided to have our breakfast at
- Austin Chase, Sunway Giza -
kinda difficult to find review on Austin Chase...
and i found 2... was blogging about their Egg.cellent breakfast deal~
and, that's what we had!
Egg.cellent all-day breakfast deals from 8.00a.m.
the Egg.cellent breakfast come with a cup of hot brewed coffee...
refillable but only until 11a.m.~
refillable brewed coffee that comes with the breakfast set~
their coffee was quite okay~
just like normal brewed coffee, nothing special...
me and Cik Ida decided to have 2 different sets so that we can exchange the sausage and ham...
thank God they served 2 sausages and 2 slices of ham~
Scrambled Egg & Chicken Sausages  RM 10.90
Scrambled Egg & Chicken Ham  RM 10.90
the scrambled egg was tasteless...
and the waiters and waitresses took ages to bring us the requested salt and pepper...
the sausages and ham that they used were the normal sausages and ham that we can get from the hypermarket...
the scrambled egg was not fluffy~ can't even taste the milk in it...
what a simple breakfast that i can even do it my own at home with better quality and quantity...

Scrambled Egg, Smoked Salmon with Baked Beans & Toast  RM 12.90
Ms V loves salmon~
she took the smoked salmon set and it was really bad...
the smoked salmon was too fishy and spoiled the scrambled egg...
the scrambled egg wasn't good anyway~
but, the hash brown was quite good...
paying RM 12.90++ for 2 pieces of hash brown?
i don't think so!
seriously~ i don't think i will go back again...
their service was terrible...
we asking for refill to our coffee...
the waiters and waitresses looked at their watch immediately in front of us...
that make us feel insulted...
then, they took ages to bring back the coffee...
when Ms V wanted a second cup of refill...
non of the waiters or waitresses can be found on the floor~
so, she went into the bar counter and asked for the coffee by herself...
guess what? they bartender actually asked her:"what's the time now?"...
what the hell! is it the correct way to treat your customer?
will definitely not going to Sunway Giza branch anymore...
maybe the Mid Valley branch is better? i don't know...
