what is your normal activity on a lazy Sunday?

my kind of Sunday no other than hanging around in a nice cosy cafe...

with either a camera or a book, or both together...

have a cup of good coffee and enjoy every moment in the cafe...

coffee, tea or me?

 nowadays, to find a good cafe is really easier than getting a taxi...

everyday i read about new cafes opening in every corner of the town...

just not long ago, i read about this newly opened cafe...

attracted by the limited photos, i googled this cafe...

i can only found another blog entry of it, it was an online photo album...

a very attractive cafe it seems...

and the best part was it's so close to where i live...

W & S

- Wood & Steel -

just like how the owner named the cafe...

every furniture in the cafe was made with wood and steel...

i was so lucky to get a chance to speak to one of the owners...

Ierfan is a furniture designer who owns a showroom in Shah Alam, selling his own designed furnitures...

he relies on Instagram a lot, posting all the photos and the response was not as expected...

the idea of making Wood & Steel happened came across when his brother, Adam wanted to open a cafe...

"what would be better than he run the cafe and i do the design with all my furnitures?" he said...

totally agree to him, especially after seeing how unique the concept is...

leather cover notebooks and leather bags on the racks is for sale...

and they have gramophone records and a player there too...

maybe when i visit them more, get closer then can ask them to play a song or two... =D

performance corner

 that's their performance corner...

Ierfan said they will have instrumental music performance every Friday night...

if i'm not mistaken...

aiks~ should have visit them today... =/

"magic" corner

why i called this bar corner as "magic" corner?

simply because that's the "magic" a cafe should have -- a good place which can produce good coffee...

the heart of the cafe~

sofa corner

 that's the only sofa they have in the cafe~

coincidently, when we were there, there was a m&m couple sitting on the sofa...

and my friend was barking me to sit on the sofa with him on our next visit...

hmm... not a good idea~

(no offence to any extraordinary couples...)

couple seat

 one of my favourite corners...

i like the idea of the small hanging piece of wood as table with two wooden stools...

and of course the colourful wall...

but i wouldn't take this table as i have too many things to put on the table...

my camera, my book, my handset, my coffee, my food........

don't think the small piece of wood enough to cater for all... =P

group corner

 long tables for bigger group...

even if customers not coming in big group, during peak hours can still be seated separately...

great choice and smart idea~ =)

private corner

 that's where my seat was...

the only corner where i found it gave a little privacy...

just my feeling~

i always like the cafe with a cosy private corner where i can sit alone...

W&S don't really have that kind of corner, but i'm quite okay with this...

centre

 standing right in the middle of the cafe and looking outside...

i like the jumbo standing lamp...

so simple yet so nice~

Ladies & Gents

 didn't utilize this part of the cafe...

maybe because i didn't stay long enough... XD

desserts vs stressed

 simply like the little wording board in front of the dessert fridge...

i guess that is the reason why we always craving for desserts when we are stressed...

Cappuccino  RM 10.00

 nicely done coffee art...

the coffee fragrance was so nice and strong~

hmm... can still get the fragrance now...

Mocha  RM 10.00

 my cup of mocha with my Yashica MAT-124...

seriously, i spent quite some times just to take picture...

the coffee art was really looking nice...

Cheesecake  RM 10.00

 homemade cheesecake that made by Ierfan's mum...

it was nice, but i would prefer the crumbled cookies base to be a little more crispy...

but it was fine, cheesy and sticky, yet melted in mouth~

while we enjoying our coffee, i walked around and took some pictures of their decorations too...

bulb

 this cutie piece of bulb was my favourite...

just find it so cute in the fat roundy shape...

art

 piece of art that hanging up high on the wall...

later when we walked around in the gallery upstairs only i realized all paintings were produced by the same artist...

i should have walked back into the cafe and checked with Ierfan if the artist is one of the family members too... next time maybe~

coffee beans

 i love this shot so much~

the wooden piece was so pretty under the light...

i would love to have it on my coffee table one day if i have my own living hall... ^^

handmade soap

i guess the soaps are for sale too...

didn't really check on that~

i just simply like their light bulbs so much and simply want to have photos of the bulbs with something...

yes! simply messing around... =D 

partner in crime of the day

that was my partner in crime of the day...

i must thank him for started the conversation with Ierfan...

otherwise i won't be able to get those information...

i visited W&S last Saturday (7 Dec) and they were only 3 weeks old...

i couldn't believe it when Ierfan told me as i always see them having a full house at night when i passed by...

he said they were really going way too fast than what they have expected...

thanks to social media -- Instagram...

W&S was supposedly to be a full self-service cafe...

but nowadays people are also looking for services that they get from a place they patronised...

hence, if is not overly busy, they will serve your coffee and cakes to you...

didn't get to try their food... the all day breakfast menu was pretty attractive~

soon, i will visit them again for brunch... =)

nothing to complain about W&S, we had a really great evening there...

but we were freezing in the cafe~

not blaming the powerful air-conditioners they are using, just the weather was really cold on that day...

i will surely return for more... more food and more coffee art...

i remember Ierfan told me to text him my blog link so that he could read what i wrote...

hmm... should i? =D
